Food Review: Raising Cane’s

Benito Escobedo, Staff Writer

A Raising Cane’s just opened in the Citrus Heights area.

The drive-through line is almost always backed up through the entire parking lot. I think Raising Cane’s is way better than other chicken places like Chick-Fil-A, Popeyes, and KFC. I got the Box Combo, and it was $9.89 and it came with four chicken fingers, fries, Texas toast, and a fountain drink. The chicken tenders are really good, and they were crunchy and weren’t dry. The fries were pretty basic but they were still good. The sauce goes really well with the chicken and fries. The Texas toast was good too, and not a lot of places do that. If you want to, you can substitute the sides, so if you don’t like coleslaw you can get extra fries or another piece of texas toast. They also have a Caniac Combo, which costs $14.59 and you get six chicken tenders, fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, and a large fountain drink. They also have a sandwich combo, it costs $8.69 and you get a chicken sandwich, fries, and a drink.

Every time I drove by Raising Cane’s I saw a long line. I ordered my food ahead of time on the app. When I got the notification that the food was ready I still had to wait around 15 minutes to get my food. There wasn’t anywhere to sit inside either. The wait time was really long, that is something they need to work on. I think they should open more locations in the Sacramento area because a lot of people want to try Raising Cane’s, there are only two locations right now.

I think Raising Cane’s gives the most food out of all the other chicken places. It’s a little cheaper than Chick-Fil-A and I think you get more food. The chicken was good quality and it tasted really good. You could tell it was real chicken, not like McDonalds or Burger King. I give raising Cane’s a 9/10. Raising Cane’s is my new favorite fast-food chicken place. I think Raising Cane’s is better than their competitors.
